"Swords & Shields II".... the sequel to Luke's very successful debut movie.
Luke and his parents took on the project this summer, of building a 6' catapult as one of the new and exciting props for "Swords & Shields II" "Afterall," Luke says, "...the warriors invented catapults since the time of the first Swords & Shields". Luke worked from a 4" toy catapult and scaled up to the larger version for filming. I think we made our neighbors a little nervous as the catapult took shape and we starting hurtling prop rocks across our property! 
While "Swords & Shields II" was written last winter, Luke will be directing that major production in autumn 2008. Over the summer 2008, he made a number of smaller films including: an alien movie (they EAT New York City!) , a dinosaur movie "Raptor Park", and a few TV shows in which Luke is a talk show host and reads letters from children all over the world, answering their questions. Luke is now the owner of a high-quality Mac computer in which he can film, edit, and produce music for his films. He had fun over the summer mastering his movie camera and computer programs.
